Russia Spent 420 Thousand Soldiers on Occupying Luxembourg and Liechtenstein
Now the great battle for Oosterhout is on
All this would be extremely funny if it weren’t for the loss of innocent Ukrainian lives. But yes, here we’re summarising the “second-largest nuclear super power’s” achievements in Ukraine in 2024.
And there’s only one phrase that can describe them to the fullest extent : GREAT SUCCESS!
To be pronounced in Borat-like accent only, that is.
Sarcasm aside, I really can’t think of any other way of describing this given that Russia has lost 420 thousand soldiers in 2024 alone, as per the recent Ukraine’s estimates, and what did it gain, ladies and gentlemen?
Yes, I ask you, over there, do tell me, please.
The answer is this: 0,5% of the total Ukrainian territory, which amounts to 603 628 square kilometers.
Naturally, Moscow can try and console itself that it occupied territory akin to the size of three Kyivs. Or that Ukraine-controlled territory in 2024 wasn’t 603 628 square kilometers. If that in any way helps them, please go ahead and claim that you’re so very victorious in Ukraine.
It’s a joke. Indeed, a literally bloody and extremely painful one for many Ukrainians — but still just that.
And I have yet to mention that it’s been four month since Ukraine entered Russian sovereign territory in Kursk Oblast, occupied parts of it and the Kremlin did virtually nothing in response despite all the “red lines” talk.
So, I've said this before and I’ll repeat it again: No, Russia isn’t winning in Ukraine. Not by any true measure. The acquisition of 2800+ sq.km., which is a little bit larger than Luxembourg plus Liechtenstein, isn’t even a tactical victory because something like that can be easily recaptured.
But for that Ukraine must receive weapons in bulk. Not Jake Sullivan’s one-tank per-month type of donation — but in the hundreds within a month.
Will Donald Trump try doing it?
I believe that there’s a chance. Luckily, my esteemed guests like retired lieutenant Fred Hoffman too.
Trump is already changing his rhetoric and while he will sure try to make a peace push as promised, there’s no more salesman-like kind of talk of ending the war “in 24 hours” or “even before he gets to the office.” Besides, he already made it clear to the European allies that he will continue to provide military support to Ukraine as well as demand that NATO member states ramp up their spending to 5%. Which is an extremely necessary measure.
What’s even more beautiful is that the Kremlin is already rejecting Trump’s proposals, with Russia’s foreign minister Sergey Lavrov stating that his idea to postpone Ukraine’s NATO membership by 20 years or send peacekeeping troops to the frontline is unacceptable to Russia.
This is exactly what Ukraine wants from Moscow in terms of its hostile conduct, which was confirmed by Zelenskyy’s office in private talks.
Now we just cautiously wait and prepare.
If there is one think we can be sure of, it's that Donald Trump does not like it when people say 'No we're not doing the thing you want us to do.'
As you say, hopefully, this will be to Ukraine's advantage.
who are you keep kidding with your lies?
