Even though it is hard for me to accept that THE West wanted it to fail (not because I'm part of said West but because it is an illogical decision for us to make, hence me struggling with it) but I don't have any doubts that many in the West wanted that, thus contributed to its failure (and one theory I have is that could have been done by promoting over-optimism about it making people involved, in the West, be less serious and concerned about its preparation and planning and in a way ignoring Ukraine's input and feedback on it)
