Russia's Worst Fear to Finally Come True

U.S.-Ukraine minerals deal paves the way for Ukraine's true security independence

Just ask yourself: If NATO membership was never on the table, and you attacked a militarily weak neighbor with the hope of conquering and subjugating it for good, then what’s your worst fear?

It is either the Holy Spirit of St. Peter’s Basilica or the incredible professionalism of Ukraine’s negotiating team. I’m not big on religion, so, above all, I want to say thank you to the my people, headed by Ukraine’s Minister of Economy, Yulia Svyrydenko, who travelled to the U.S. yesterday to sign the key part of the minerals deal.

And it’s not just any deal: it’s a document that could finally make Russia’s worst and true fear come true.
